Overview

As a GIS Analyst for the Telecom team you will contribute in the RF Design of various client’s regional cellular network. Responsibilities include: validating search areas within their geographic area of responsibility; working with the performance and capacity team to understand areas of concern. Analyze multiple solutions to meet RF objectives from capacity offload and coverage enhancement point of view. Coordinate the project from start to end with other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide organization to small project teams 
  • Contribute knowledge on the test process 
  • Suggest improvements to processes and procedures to obtain efficiencies 
  • Develop basic data analysis tools, processes, or products for analysis 
  • Analyze pre-test predictions to define data collection requirements 
  • Assist in the conduct of test activities from control centers 
  • Order, QC and analyze data; Identify and resolve basic data anomalies; Present test findings 
  • Assist in authoring final test products 
  • Provide other related support as requested
  • Technician must have good attention to detail in order to maintain, enter and manipulate data in a GIS database.
  • Must show the ability to enter data quickly, correctly and efficiently.
  • Understands how to convert data from older sources into digital formats
  • Demonstrates a position level appropriate knowledge of cartography and at least some understanding of graphic design.
  • Maintains, enters and manipulates data in various GIS systems (ArcOnline, ArcGIS)
  • Maintains databases
  • Gathers field data for use in various mapping applications
  • Communicates effectively with other team/project members.
  • Is reliable and dependable to complete assignments accurately and on time.
  • Able to take direction and work closely with the team to identify and communicate challenges and recommended process improvements.
  • Accuracy, quality and completeness and schedule adherence can be independently maintained by you, and measured by others
  • Submits accurate time sheets for payroll processing
  • Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates courtesy and ability to work with others in the office

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geography or equivalent is required. Geographic Information Systems certificate preferred.
  • 1+ year post college of Computer/GIS/RF/science & engineering-type professional experience is required.
  • Electrical utility or communication utility (phone or cable company) background is ideal but not required
