The Party Chief has sufficient knowledge and experience to lead the operation of equipment, field data gathering practices, survey workflows, and application of mathematics in the field to accomplish survey projects. The Party Chief supervises the survey operations in the field and therefore must demonstrate enough knowledge, experience, and responsibility to operate independently and to supervise others. The Party Chief has sufficient experience and knowledge to identify and report information in the field that relates to boundary determination, construction issues, irregularities in previous work, or other factors that relate to the application of our surveying work. The Party Chief may or may not have an LSIT or PS, but is expected to be progressing toward professional licensure through on-the-job experience and independent learning. The Party Chief is also a representative of the company while on job sites and is expected to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and maturity. The Party Chief typically reports to a Project Surveyor or Survey Manager. A Party Chief may evolve into a Senior Survey Technician or a Project Surveyor depending on their experience, training path, and personal qualities.
