Project Manager - Development

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction of a team of engineers.  You will be the point of contact to the client representative and ensure the project conforms to the contractual agreement the firm has made.  You also will monitor to ensure that the project is completed within the allocated period of time and within the budget that has been assigned.

The position requires a deep understanding of civil site design with previous experience working with grading, traffic flow, water distribution, wastewater collections, and storm water management projects. This role requires regular interaction with our clients; therefore, excellent verbal and written communications skills are required. Working knowledge of Civil 3D software preferred.


What you'll do:    

  • Participate in preparing the proposal 
  • Develop project schedule and budget
  • Participate in presentations to the client
  • Assist with contract preparation
  • Review contract requirements
  • Assist Segment Leader with assignment of staff and other resources
  • Develop task list for each level of personnel on the project
  • Prepare budgets and schedules for each major element of work and task items
  • Answer questions and give daily mentorship to Project Engineers and staff
  • Review work for accuracy and quality
  • Monitor project work toward budget and schedule goals
  • Review staff time sheets and expense reports
  • Review invoices before distribution to client
  • Assist in collection of past due accounts receivable
  • Hold monthly project manager meetings and report on general status of the project
  • Provide and review specifications and other reports or studies issued to the client
  • Adhere to firms established Project Management principles
  • Enforce project QA/QC standards




What you've done:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (preferably Civil), and Professional Registration
  • 7+ years of Land (Site) Development experience in design of public and private projects
  • Experience with civil engineering project management, including development/management of scopes, schedules, and budgets
  • Maintained licensure as required through continuing education and training
  • Developed strong leadership skills
  • History of leading multiple projects and multiple project teams
  • Developed the following skills; job knowledge, communication, planning, collaboration, decision-making, judgement and problem solving
